Land’s End

We first went there together in August 1971, having driven all the way down to Cornwall in our old Fiat 850 for a week’s camping holiday. Although we did enjoy some fine weather, the wet and windy days outnumbered the sunny ones and the day we went to Land’s End was particularly foul. However, unable to think of anything else to do and because we were so close to the end of the land, we just had to go there. On arrival, we paid what we thought was an over inflated price for parking the car, then braced ourselves against the incessant rain and howling wind as we set off to explore England’s most westerly point.
